Collections

A certified demand letter from an established third party shows your client you’re willing to take action. When clients ignore your requests for payment, they’re telling you they think there’s nothing you can do. More requests from you generally lead to simply being ignored again. We can step in affordably to help.

The Letter

Collection agencies are unlikely to take single debts. Lawyers are expensive. Neither can guarantee fast movement. But a client knowing you’re willing to act and that you have someone on your side is often just as good a nudge. Both the embarrassment of someone new being involved and the message you’ve got professional support can be powerful motivators.

We send a forceful letter giving your client ten calendar days to contact you and resolve the debt before potentially “filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and your Attorney General’s office, coordinating with any applicable state licensing agencies, reporting to major credit bureaus, and taking legal action.” All letters are sent certified mail with tracking and electronic return receipts.

Follow Up Options

Everyone tells you to go to the Better Business Bureau. Maybe some also tell you to go to the Attorney General. Your confirmation email will tell you the why and how for doing both. It will also give you examples of industries covered by state regulating or licensing departments. These are your free options for follow up, and they can be more powerful than many people think provided you have given the client every opportunity and timely warning, which this letter also helps you prove.

After that, the options start costing, but it doesn’t have to be as bad as you think. Your confirmation letter will tell you about aggregator services that will allow you to report the delinquency to all major credit agencies for a fee, and provide filing considerations for civil or small claims court if you and your client are in different states.

We highly recommend the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General steps. Whether or not it’s worth taking things further is up to you, but having our letter in your hands bolsters your case in every one of these options.

Get Started

Almost invariably, your clients are going to contact us to object. The $59 price of your letter includes printing, postage, certified mail fees, electronic return receipt fees, and our replies to your client redirecting them to the letter’s instructions and you. In some rare cases, your client is going to push us further. That’s our responsibility. You won’t have any surprise follow up fees.

If you want help beyond the letter, we’re happy to be here for you. We can provide more aggressive collection attempts and arbitration services at very reasonable prices. But, we developed this program as an affordable option for small businesses. We hope it makes all that unnecessary and firmly believe this should be your first step.

Step 1 of 4

Enter the name on your invoices, even if it's your own again.
"It may not work every time, but for the money this is the most effective first line for me. I've had to send a number of these letters over the years and the clients contact me immediately 60% or 70% of the time."
